Deal and Creative Set Up

๐Ÿ’ป Your Account Manager will add creative tags and deal IDs to your Picnic Programmatic Set-Up Doc.

Creatives

๐ŸŽจ Picnic will send Javascript Creative Tags.

  • You can upload this to your DSP as a third party display tag.
  • Tracking has already been implemented (unless requested otherwise) so you do not need to add any further tracking.

Troubleshooting

โ€ผ๏ธ If you are having problems uploading your creatives, please check the following:

  • Ensure that you have added 320x480 as the creative size.
  • Check the preview of your creative and ensure it looks/behaves as expected.

Deals

๐Ÿค All Picnic deals will be from Xandr.

Targeting

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ Picnic has two types of deals - Audience/Contextual and RON. The type of targeting you can overlay through your DSP depends on the type of deal you are using.

โ€ฃ
Audience/Contextual
  • Picnic will utilise our extensive Publisher 1st Party Data to build custom audience and/or contextual deals that accommodate your targeting needs.
  • Picnic will overlay viewability.
  • You can overlay Brand Safety as required.
โ€ฃ
RON
  • Picnic will overlay viewability.
  • You can overlay Audience/Brand Safety/Geos/Contextual (keywords or domain allow/block list) targeting.

Deal Set-Up

๐Ÿ”ง Deal setup will vary from DSP to DSP. In all circumstances you'll either (i) need to manually input the deal into your DSP or (ii) it'll automatically populate.

  • Your Picnic AM will have provided all relevant information to generate a targetable deal (Deal ID, SSP (Xandr or AppNexus), Deal Name, Floor/Fixed CPM and Flight Dates)
  • In the case of point ii you'll be able to locate your Deal by searching for the Deal ID provided by your Picnic AM.

โš™๏ธ Please ensure that you are only targeting Picnic's deals. Make sure that 'Target New Exchanges' (DV360 only, other DSPs may vary) is unticked.

Troubleshooting

โ€ผ๏ธ If you are having problems setting up your Picnic deals, please check the following:

  • You've implemented the Deal ID correctly.
  • You've selected the correct SSP.
  • That you're receiving bid requests to the Deal ID - please contact your Picnic AM if not.
  • (DV360 only, other DSPs may vary) That the box 'Target New Exchanges' in unticked. Otherwise, you will target the open web, rather than Picnic inventory.
